The world is full of magic, all you need to do is look. Science is not the antithesis of magic, because magic isn't about a lack of understanding. Magic is the wonder of seeing the complexities flow into something beautiful; like the chaotic whirling of leaves in the wind. With study and calculation you could understand every turn and flip, but that does not diminish its beauty.

Ways to become more in tune with the world

• Sit outside and close your eyes. Listen
• Watch an insect go about its day. Consider how important a single small ditch is to a creature like that
• When you pass someone, realise that their life has just as much detail and nuance as yours

You might pass by ten people every day you have never met before and never will. Every one of them would think the same of you. You are small. You are gargantuan. Every tiny speck is full of thousands of details waiting to be discovered and appreciated.

The meaning of life is what you make of it, so go make something out of it.
